Sample Pack Releases

Ever needed to create a Christmas carol parody in a modern style but just couldn’t face the hard work? Well, Platinumloops has got you covered with their latest sample pack release entitled ‘Hip Hop Christmas‘.

It’s a collection of 9 popular Christmas Carols that focus around a Hip Hip style of production and range from all out cheese to actually quite tasteful. Have a listen.

With 145 audio loops in the usual three file formats and the master MIDI files for each carol this is a pretty powerful sample pack. The public domain carols featured are:

  • Auld Lang Syne
  • Away In A Manger
  • Joy To the World
  • Merry Christmas
  • O Come Emmanuel
  • O Little Town of Bethlehem
  • Silent Night
  • What Child Is This
  • God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Our fave was ‘Silent Night’ which although not strictly Hip Hop has a very classy orchestral vibe and boasts quite advanced arrangements with piano, strings and percussion. The rest vary from smooth RnB to all out Crunk and won’t fail to put a smile on your face.

If you’re involved in commercial production of any kind these beat making sample should come in very useful at that time of year.

What’s a ‘Public Domain’ song you might ask? Well, a public domain song is a song that is so old it is now considered to be public property. You can rework a public domain song without any worries about copyright or licensing. The copyright itself has expired.

This is great for modern day composers and beat makers because there is a wealth of top class musical material that sits in the public domain. It’s also an excellent opportunity to re-awaken lost and forgotten songs from long ago that younger people are perhaps not aware of.

Watch out for a second release of Christmas themed samples from Platinumloops entitled ‘Hard Core Christmas’. We’ll let you interpret that any way you like.
